COPPER RIVER STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM*

Open only to campers with a connection to the Copper River Watershed

Cost: $300, scholarships available

How do we ensure that our future leaders understand the contribution that complex natural systems make to a healthy society? With multiple partner organizations, we support more than 10 high school student leaders (from coastal and upriver Copper River communities) as they study the ecosystems of the Copper River watershed. They spend time in both the upper basin’s boreal forest and the delta’s rainforests, connecting it all. Adventures include multi-day overnight sailing trips from Cordova to Valdez, habitat stewardship projects that benefit fish and wildlife, and fun, creative writing exercises to help you find your voice.
