2024 ANNUAL REPORT

Renewing our Commitment to a Brighter Future

In uncertain times, there’s a comfort to the reliable renewal that is palpable in the nature all around us. Here in the world’s richest waters, we look forward to the time of year when we experience the return of the shorebirds, the salmon, the light. These events refresh our energy and remind us to focus on what matters.

In the 36+ years since our incorporation, our main role at the Prince William Sound Science Center has been to improve the understanding of the ecosystems that our coastal economy depends upon. Today, amidst so many changing conditions, our work is more challenging and more important than ever. We remain steadfast in our approach and our commitment to innovation. Whether it’s optimizing kelp hatchery seed production, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can be applied to inform fisheries management, monitoring ocean conditions, or providing better science education opportunities for youth, the Science Center’s work leads to a brighter and more hopeful future.

We are here today thanks to you – donors, funders, research partners, elected officials, teachers, fishermen, and more. We hope the highlights provided in our 2024 annual report will renew and reinvigorate support for science and science education that makes a meaningful difference to coastal communities.

Sincerely,

Katrina Sig
