Shelby is a seasonal field and lab work technician for the PWSSC study looking at Herring and Salmon interactions in the Prince William Sound.

She gained a B.S. in Environmental Science and Health from USC and spent four additional years there as a research technician in two marine microbiology labs. While at USC she contributed to work within marine microbial ecology, including the identification and characterization of the microbiomes for various marine organisms.

Interested in biological oceanography, Shelby aims to pursue further studies in the field and hopes to specifically focus on marine vertebrate microbial consortia research.
